Philippine Eagle
The Philippine eagle is widely acknowledged as the national bird of the Philippines. It has a former name of Monkey-eating eagle and the etymology of its previous name is based on the fact that it eats monkeys specifically macaques but later studies show that it hunts variety of animals. Its taloned feet and sharp, hooked beaks are very beneficial on the part of the eagle for it makes food-hunting more convenient and easier. There's no wonder why it belongs to a group of birds called raptor that catches prey. It embodies long brown feathers, broad wings and bluish gray beak that enables it to grasp the target firmly. It is viewed as largest eagle all over the world having its length as a preference. It dwells in Mount Apo that is located in Mindanao. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN)confirms the rapid decrease pf the population of Philippine eagle that's why it is seeking help from the government and the society in preserving this one of a kind creature before it goes beyond its critically-endangered status.
