Philippine naked-backed fruit bat

The Philippine Naked-backed Fruit Bat particularly originated in Cebu and Negros Islands. Its scientific name is Dobsonia chapman. One interesting fact about this type of bat is that its wings are directly connected to the midline of its back that's why a naked effect emerges. It is a cave-dweller especially the one that's formed by limestone and also lives even in that are highly disturbed regions. It usually goes out at night to eat fruit in rainforests that's why the cutting down of trees produces a great impact to the decrease in the population of this creature. There was a declaration from IUCN that the Philippine Naked-backed Fruit Bat already vanished but then it's good to know that there was a rediscovery by the year 2000. Moreover, it is still classified as critically endangered because of the downturn in its population for about 80 % because of various threats including climate change, deforestation and other destructive activities of man.
